CodeMeter Software Copy Protection

CodeMeter is a WIBU-SYSTEMS AG security product.

Numerous licences can be stored on the CodeMeter hardware (dongle) - including from different software producers using the same security system.

They are available as USB stick, PCMCIA card, Express PC card, CF card, SD card or MicroSD card.

The GGU Software protected by the CodeMeter copy protection system is only available in conjunction with the CodeMeter copy protection component (hardware for connection to the PC). Because of the way the system is configured, the protected software can only be operated with the corresponding CM hardware.

This creates a fixed link between the software licence and the CodeMeter copy protection hardware; the GGU licences as such are thus represented by the CodeMeter hardware. The CodeMeter stick runtime kit must therefore be installed on your PC.

When started and while running every GGU program checks that the CodeMeter hardware is fitted. If it has been removed, the program can no longer be executed.
